          1. I've discussed this with friends before. "It's £20 for a provisional licence, what's the problem". Not everyone can afford £20 for ID, not everyone is even allowed to have a provisional licence (medical reasons for example) 1/2 @kierongillen/1391662581249679361

If we "agree" that it's okay to have to pay to vote what about if it was £100 for ID? What if we make is £10k instead so only the richest can vote? Forcing voter ID for a problem that barely exists (if at all) does nothing but stop the poorest people in the country from voting.

As I suspected, the problem barely exists. SIX cases of voter fraud so now everyone will need ID which will stop a huge portion of people from voting. @joepike/1392003875415240704

Depending on the circles you run in, you might be thinking "who doesn't have ID?". I worked for ~8 months in a second-hand game shop and we required ID for trade ins. We had to start accepting a bank card as ID because so many people just didn't have any kind of photo ID.

Something that stuck with me was a woman in her 40s saying "No one in my family has photo ID".
