      @bradleychambers I use one of these for my Fire TV: sideclickremotes.com It's not glamorous, but it solves the volume control issue.

    @bradleychambers You're thoughts are almost identical to mine - I don't think I'd recommend someone the ATV unless they already used iTunes.
